Cementing Fluids
The most important function of oil & gas well primary cementing is to isolate the various zones within the wellbore. In others words, the cement must prevent fluids or gases in one particular zone from mingling with those of another. A properly designed and placed cement slurry accomplishes this by creating the necessary seal between the casing and the formation. The cement must prevent migration or fluid channeling throughout the cement.
Today's well cement systems must perform in a variety of down hole conditions, from 0 °C - over 350 °C., and at bottom hole pressures in excess of 30,000 psi. Messina has developed a complete line of cement additives, which modify the characteristics and performance of the cement slurry. This means that a slurry can be designed to function over the wide range of conditions that occur in the wellbore.
Drilling Fluids
The drilling mud system performs several important functions to oil & gas well drilling. These include the removal of drill cuttings, the prevention the entry and migration of formation fluids by maintaining proper hydrostatic pressures, as well as wellbore and tool lubricity.
Messina designs, formulates, produces, and engineers a complete line of drilling and completion products and systems. The drilling additives shown here are used to prepare fluids for any drilling situation, including non-toxic drilling mud systems for use in environmentally sensitive areas.
Process Chemicals
Refinery operations cover a wide array of applications. However, all relate to the processing of the produced hydrocarbon for the numerous possible applications and products. To accomplish this, either the fluid and/or the equipment at the facility may be chemically treated. Messina can provide a complete line of filtration/absorption products for fluid streams, as well as the chemical products required for other phases of refinery operations, such as distillation, cracking, etc.
Stimulation Fluids
Stimulation treatments consist of a variety of possible fluid systems designed to treat oil or gas wells by means of either acidizing or fracturing in order to maximize production and return on investment. Production fluids are usually a mixture of liquid hydrocarbons, gas, and possibly water and other impurities. In regards to production treatments, the produced fluids/gases are chemically treated to enhance and improve the removal of the hydrocarbons from the well to the production facilities, as well as to separate the desired hydrocarbons from the unwanted impurities, and/or water prior to storage.
Over the past several decades, Messina's many stimulation and production treating systems have been developed to give each customer and each well condition the most efficient system at the best price.
It is critical that stimulation and production treating fluid systems are composed of additive chemicals that are not only compatible with other components in the system, but compatible with the formation fluids and well conditions. Messina's OILAID product line was developed with this is mind.
Testing Equipment
To avoid costly problems in the field, and to design the best systems for a particular well or field condition, it is important to test the product or fluid system under simulated field conditions. For this reason, Messina's Testing Equipment division has developed a complete line of Mud, Cement, Stimulation, Production Treating, and Core testing equipment for both field and lab applications. This line of testing equipment allows the engineer, geologist, or lab technician the best tool available to show the performance capabilities of a particular product or system.
