Nonionic fluorocarbon surfactant designed for use in both acid and water based fracturing fluids. OILAID-S-11, being a fluorocarbon, is capable of developing extremely low surface tensions at very low concentrations. It is extremely effective at combatting water blocks by reducing interfacial tension which can occur between formation oil and water. OILAID-S-11 can also help improve acid penetration by reducing the surface tension and increasing the spreading ability between the acid and the formation rock. OILAID-S-11 tends to water wet sandstone formations for more optimum oil production. The recommended dosage for OILAID-S-11 is 1 gpt of treating fluid. It should be added to the frac tanks before gelling to ensure complete mixing. If desired, OILAID-S-11 can also be added on the fly. In acidizing, OILAID-S-11 can be added to the acid holding tank in the same manner as any other additive.  

Nonionic specially-formulated surfactant blend that considerably reduces solution surface tension for various types of acids, as well as water-based fracturing fluids and brines. OILAID-S-15 is a complex solution of quaternary ammonium compounds and surface active agents in a modified solvent. The unique processing of this product has enabled the formulation of an extremely effective surfactant which, when used at low concentrations, allows surface tension reductions from 100 to 2,000%. OILAID-S-15 is normally used from Þ 2 to 4 gpt. For most acidizing and fracturing fluids 2 gpt is the recommended amount. OILAID-S-15 is an extremely good surface tension reducer, applicable in all acids or aqueous frac fluids.

A specially low surface tension surfactant blend for various types of acid, as well as water-based fracturing fluids and brines. OILAID-S-20 is a non-ionic surfactant which allows exceptionally low surface tensions to be achieved in comparison to many other types of surfactants currently available. It is applicable in all strengths of HCl and HF acid systems. Surface tension is reduced considerably to a range of 26 to 30 dynes/cm by the use of this product. Utilization of OILAID-S-20 in acidizing treatments improves fluid penetration and fluid recovery after treatment. In addition, the wetting characteristics of the acid are enhanced on the rock face. OILAID-S-20 is typically loaded in concentrations of 1.5 to 4 gpt of treating fluid.

Nonionic multipurpose surfactant for oilfield applications. OILAID-S- 106 may be successfully used to improve water-wetting characteristics of the formation in water injection operations. The product may also be used as a de-oiler of solids, and for general uses such as cleaning tools and equipment. For water injection, normal concentration rates range from 10 to 50 ppm. For batch treating, inject 50 to 1,000 ppm into the system, shut in the well for 24 to 48 hours and then begin backflow and/or water injection.
