A cost-effective anionic liquid oil gellant for use in Messina's High Temperature OILAID Gelled Oil System, which is stable from 80°F to 300° F. This system is a two-component gellant for use in a variety of oils ranging from crude to kerosene. The system is composed of OILAID-OG-2 (gellant) and OILAID-OA-10 (gel activator). The system may be broken as desired by either OILAID-OB-10 or OILAID-BG-20. The system will gel many crude oils (with >30° API), and is stable to temperatures of 300°F (149°C). Typically loaded from 6-16 gpt in the base oil. The exact loading will be determined by the viscosity required, and the temperature anticipated.ÞÞ In addition to the above application, this same system may be used at lower loadings as a low viscosity friction reducer for oils. 

An effective anionic liquid oil gellant for use in Messina's OILAID Gelled Oil System, which is stable from 80°F to above 200° F. This system is a two-component gellant for use in a variety of oils ranging from crude to kerosene. The system is composed of OILAID-OG-10 (gellant) and OILAID-OA-10 (gel activator). The system may be broken as desired by OILAID-OB-10. The system will gel many crude oils (with >30° API), ranging from crude to diesel or kerosene. Typically loaded from 6-16 gpt in the base oil. The exact loading will be determined by the viscosity required, and the temperature anticipated.                          

A stabilized liquid activator for use in conjunction with OILAID-OG-10 in Messina's OILAID Gelled Oil System. OILAID-OA-10 acts as an activator for OILAID-OG-2, 10, or 12. It may be used in many different oils with API Gravity above 30°. Normal dosage for OILAID-OA-10 is 1.35 gallons for every 10 gallons of OILAID-OG-10. The actual loading necessary will depend on the type of crude used, the viscosity desired, and the bottom hole temperature to be encountered.                   

An effective powdered breaker for use with OILAID-OG-2, OG-10, or OG-12. OILAID-OB-10 allows break times ranging from 4 to 24 hours, depending on the crude used, and the type and loading of gellant in the system. It is typically loaded at 5 to 40 lb/1000 gal of fracturing fluid. As with all gel breaker systems, actual loadings should be determined by lab tests prior to use in the field. OILAID-OB-10 should be added on the fly.          

An inorganic compound which is used in gelled oil systems to break the viscosity of the system after application. It may be used in conjunction with any of Messina's oil gellant products. OILAID-OB-15 is added to the system on-the-fly to the frac fluid system as it is pumped into the well. It is typically loaded from 25 to 60 lb/1000 gal of fracturing fluid, although the actual dosage is determined by breaker loading, temperature, and gellant loading. As with all oil gellant breakers, the actual loading is best determined by lab testing prior to use in the field.
