Stimulation/Production Chemicals

An oil-soluble, anionic liquid, used as a friction reducer in water- based fracturing fluids. OILAID-FR-1 will provide a 70-80% friction reduction at concentration of less than 1 gal/1000 gal of fracturing fluid. OILAID-FR-1 yields rapidly, and may be used as a viscosifier. It may be added to the fluid in the blender and begins to yield in seconds. OILAID-FR-1 is not normally adversely affected by shear. Two to five gallons per 1000 gallons of treating fluids will viscosify fresh water drilling fluids to prevent sloughing and carry drill cuttings.                   

Cationic polyacrylate liquid for use in acid, calcium water, and brines. OILAID-AFR-1 is effective to 300° F at 1 to 2 gal/1000 gal concentration. This loading will provide a 70% reduction in friction in 15% HCl and weak acid solutions. Because 28% HCl will cause a slight degradation in performance, a 2 to 4 gpt loading may be necessary to achieve 65% friction reduction.                                                                                                                                                                                    

Powdered friction reducer that is readily soluble in fresh water, most oilfield brines, and a range of acids. OILAID-FR-10 will provide friction reduction, fluid loss control, and viscosity to a wide variety of stimulation waters and acid solutions. It will yield in waters with a pH up to 8.5, and in many brines up to a pH of 9.7. OILAID-FR-10 contains an added dispersing agent, which ensures smooth mixing and distribution. However, this also means the product will take a few minutes to yield. Because of this, OILAID-FR-10 should be added rapidly to the blender tub, and is not recommended for continuous mix operations. For friction reduction, add 0.2 to 1.0 ppg of water or acid. For viscosity, add 2-4 ppg.

OILAID-FR-20 provides up to 70% friction reduction in 15% and weaker HCl solutions, and is effective to 300° F at 1 to 2 gal/1000 gal concentration.                                                                                                                                                                                                  

Powder, cationic friction reducer for acid, brines, and fresh water. OILAID-FR-30 is stable at 350°F to 375°F. It is typically loaded from 0.5 to 5 lb/1000 gal concentration.
