DIVERTING AGENTS |

| INTRODUCTION
As treatments work on a formation they increase permeability, and subsequently the majority of the treating fluid will follow the path of least resistance (the highest permeability created by the treatment). Diverting agents are used to direct the treating fluids into the lower permeability areas (hairline fractures) of the formation matrix, thus more stimulation results, creating a more productive flow network. |

Milky white liquid/oil soluble resin dispersion in a water soluble solvent. OILAID-DA-35 is nonionic and compatible with acid inhibitors in both live and spent acid. It acts as a diverting agent by restricting the flow of acid to the more permeable zone and forcing the acid into the zones of less permeability. OILAID-DA-35 also acts as a fluid loss additive for acid fracturing fluid systems. It is effective to +200° F. Typical loading is 5 to 10 gpt acid up to 150°F bottom hole temperature, and 10 to 20 gpt at temperatures from 10 to 20 gpt. Product Data Sheet |
White crystalline powder, functions as temporary plugging agent that is completely soluble in hydrocarbons, both liquid and gas. Can be used in both water based and oil based fluids. The solubility in hydrocarbons increases with temperature. OILAID-DA-40 has a melting point of 176° F at atmospheric pressure and 195°F at 5,000 psi. Typical loadings range from 2 to 3 lbs, will function adequately to form a plug, forms polymer gel diverting agent, friction reducer/viscosifier. Product Data Sheet |
A fast hydrating powdered water-soluble polymer which can be used as a friction reducer, viscosifier, and polymer gel diverting agent. OILAID-DA-50 serves as a gelling agent for freshwater fracturing fluids, and as a friction reducer in fresh or brine fracturing fluids. OILAID-DA-50 can be used to prepare high-viscosity plugs to control lost circulation or to divert stimulation fluids. Typically loaded at Þ 1 to 6 lb per 100 gallons of freshwater or brine for friction reducers, 10 to 20 lb per 1000 gallons as a thickening agent, and up to 40 lb per 1000 gallons as a high-viscosity plug. Acid flake, oil and water soluble, recommended for use with either water, acid, or oil-based carrier fluids. However, because OILAID-DA- 60 is more soluble in oil than water, an aqueous carrier fluid in recommended. OILAID-DA-60 is very successful as a diverting agent at temperatures up to 250°F (122°C). It is typically loaded at 1.5 to 2.0 ppg. of treating fluid. Product Data Sheet |
Salt crystalline temporary plugging agent for use in fracturing or acidizing water-injection wells, gas wells, and in some cases, oil wells. OILAID-DA-65 has a particle size of approximately 95% between 20 and 100 mesh. Typically loaded at 3 to 4 ppg, although the actual loading will vary depending on conditions of the well.
