THINNERS & CONDITIONING AGENTS |

| INTRODUCTION
These products reduce viscosity and gel strengths, and are described variously as thinners, deflocculants, dispersants, and rheological control agents. Some also function as fluid loss agents and emulsifiers. They fall into three categories: (1) modified or unmodified natural polymers such as lignites, lignite derivatives, and lignosulfonates; (2) synthetic polymers; and (3) formulated compounds of modified natural polymers with synthetics. |

Causticized Leonardite (a special grade of lignite high in humic acids content). Primarily a dispersant/thinner/rheological conditioning agent but also functions as an important fluid loss reducing agent in water base muds. Mesuco-CL as functions as an oil-in-water emulsifier. |
Same as MESUCO-CL but complexed with chrome to provide a product of exceptional performance in moderate to high temperature mud systems. An excellent dispersant, thinner, rheological control agent, and API and HTHP fluid loss reducing agent for water base mud systems. |
Same as MESUCO-LIG but complexed with chrome to increase performance in water base mud systems. A good economic rheological control and fluid loss additive. Product Data Sheet

Potassium causticized Leonardite (a special grade lignite high in humic acid content). Excellent dispersant, thinner, and fluid loss agent. Provides extra potassium for controlling the expansion and dispersion of clays and shales. |

A low molecular weight synthetic deflocculant, thinner, and anti-gellant.. This product is non-polluting and has excellent tolerance in high temperature (+260°C/500°F) mud systems. It is 4 to 6 times more effective than lignosulfonate-based products. Unlike lignosulfonates, POLYSPERSE does not require an increase in pH to function, will not break down to give detrimental by-products to the mud system and, is safe to use in environmentally sensitive areas. Solid and concentrated liquid forms are available. |
Sulfonated low molecular synthetic deflocculant, etc. Very similar to POLYSPERSE (see above) but has a higher tolerance to salts. Solid and liquid forms are available. Product Data Sheet |
Sulfonated low molecular synthetic deflocculant, etc. Similar to POLYSPERSEand POLYSPERSE-XHT (see above) , but this product is the most salt and divalent ion-tolerant, as well as the most functional at extreme temperatures. Available in solid and liquid forms. |
