| INTRODUCTION (SALT CEMENT SLURRIES)
Salt (NaCl) can be used for a number of reasons in cement, 1) accelerate the cement (1% to 10% BWOW), 2) retard the cement (18% to 37.2% BWOW), 3) increase slurry density, 4) reduce slurry viscostiy, 5) improve bonding to salt sections, 6) protect shales from sloughing and heaving, 7) causes some slight expansion in set cement. |
